What is Salla?
Salla is a Saudi, fully hosted e-commerce platform. You sign up, pick a plan and a theme, add your products and start selling. Hosting, security and updates are handled for you, and the dashboard is fully in Arabic.
What is WooCommerce?
WooCommerce is a free, open-source plugin that turns a WordPress website into an online store. You host it yourself, so you own the site, the code and the data, and you can customise almost anything.

When Salla is the better choice

When WooCommerce is the better choice
- You need custom features, integrations or a unique design.
- You want full ownership of your website and customer data.
- Content marketing and SEO are a big part of your growth plan.
- You sell internationally, or have complex products, pricing or shipping rules.
Don’t forget e-invoicing
Stores in Saudi Arabia must issue invoices that meet ZATCA’s e-invoicing (Fatoora) requirements. Check how your chosen platform supports this before you launch.
Our advice
There is no single winner. Salla is an excellent way to launch fast, while WooCommerce gives you more freedom as the business grows. Many brands start on Salla and move to WooCommerce later; others choose WooCommerce from day one because they need flexibility.
